join the energy revolution

Newcastle College's Energy Academy was founded in 2012 to be the premier institution for renewable and subsea technical education in the North East. To mark 15 years of successfully training the next generation of skilled, industry-ready green energy professionals, we are expanding our offer into a brand-new Energy Academy campus supported by renowned employers and local government partners.

Situated in the heart of Wallsend, our exciting expansion will enable Newcastle College to remain at the cutting edge of specialist training for the renewables sector. By September 2027, the new Energy Academy will continue our expert technical training in welding, fabrication and offshore skills, but will now include additional capacity in carbon capture, hydrogen fuels and battery storage to meet not only national energy requirements, but also the latest needs of our industry partners.
